The Window In Front of me

The Window in Front of Me

Introduction

There was a buzz around Aizawl with projects getting approved and lenders given away  loans and making payments, I was still searching for my Solar order, with the help of my supplier I had managed to get demo kits and other equipment to set up a demo unit in a house in Sailovi’s house.  It was a small house, however with the Pig Farm project money coming through, she had a pig pen in front of her house, it was a large tract of land and also a shelter for the pigs to go and rest or sleep whenever the time was right.
I was alone here and despite the hospitality of the host, I was lonely and that left me time to do my calculations for a Solar System that would be set up on her house as a prototype.  Numbers kept me thinking and the loneliness away, it came back only in the night when I slept in the garage room every night for 4-5 hours every night, it had a bed and a lamp on a table, slipped inside the cabinet of the table was a bottle of water and a towel.
I would go to sleep at 4am every night and would be up by 8am for breakfast and back to surveying the town and the countryside for   Solar opportunity.  The fact remained that Solar was more expensive than the grid, and Sailovi had tried to convince me that Solar made sense here and I believed her.  We had visited homes and mansions and other PIG FARMS with her and I had to come to a standardized solution and the solution was right in front of me :

Commune to Freedom

My focus stays in North East India   Sailovi Chenkual and Group, see their lives coming together with the funding for a Pig Farm, it was like I said, a large plot with fencing around it, like a coral where the pigs roamed free, and ofcourse there was a place for them to rest.  Sailovi had been working hard and she had showed me the importance of money, “You must take care of your finances,” she said very sternly and she was right.

My supplier had sent me to  Aizawl  on a supposed project only for me to realise that it had been an  important task to analyse the project beforehand and not on landing at the port.  I called him up, “Sir, Goodmorning,” and got a curt reply from him. I was standing in the centre of the city and then suddenly I saw two woman talking hastily with this queer look on their faces scurrying out of a local drug store, while I continued to talk, soon enough there was a loud scampering of feet as the shop owners came running out.  It was plain for anyone to see that the two women had stolen something from the shop.
Saivoli’s castesizing came back to me like a revelation and I said instantly,”Sir, you have been lying to me, there is no project here.”  He was shocked and I was stunned at my own words, I had never as said a word bad to him before, but my mind was in a state of intimidation.

I calmly laid down the proof of what I saw and I realised that Sailovi’s intuition were never wrong, she had been calming my agitation down while she had worked out a plan for me in Aizawl, she had been doing all the thinking for me.
Two thousand units were looking like a possibility to me today, “So what was the average cost of the system,” she asked curiously, “Could be anywhere between Rs 50000 to Rs 75000,” I said, I thought I knew this well.  She opened up her accounts book there and then and showed me how she priced her pigs.

I Know You believe Her

I Know You Believe Her

Introduction

There was a small gathering at the Milaap office, I was present representing one of my clients,         " We sell Solar Lanterns, Solar Power and Solar LED,” and so here I was standing near the town hall, waiting for them to open up.  Besides me there was just another woman, a strongly built lass this one, and I looked at her once and said to myself,”Maybe she would buy, eh?”

Sailovi was thinking of her business project that she had spoken to Vibheiko about, when she noticed this man standing impatiently at the door, I just nodded at her and could see she was as curious as I was,”You waiting for Milaap,” she asked me point blank.  Well, I was here to sell solar lanterns,”ahhh well, aam am not sure who I am supposed to meet here,” I stuttered.  She took a long breath and walked over to me and showed me the form she had filled up, I gazed at it and saw the project finance had been filled up, what remained was the exact nature of the project.  We got talking and stuttered through another explanation                 as to why I was here,

“Maybe you could help me, man?” she said and started asking me questions on how a business should be run,”Which business should I get into?”another point blank question shot at me and I had researched Aizawl enough to answer instantly,”Pigery.”
She smiled back, just what she had wanted to hear I assumed, and she quickly scribbled on the form, “PIG FARM”

City Of Freedom

My focus stays with  Sailovi Chenkual and Group,                   as they lead me to the water, oasis there were many here, one particular bar that I had started to favour after a couple of months was the Sertawk Bar just off the Chatlang Bawngkawn Road, I walked in today with a smile on my face and Vibheiko in tow.  There was a large man, about six and half feet tall standing at the entrance, talking to his friends, he was intimidating, Vibheiko asked me to hold back, but I had seen enough of macho upmanship, I just put my head down, chin up and walked straight at him, a boxers pose I had learned from my friends in the army, he saw me coming, this huge bouncer and moved aside instantly.  “I had been down and I have been low but I never give up,”I told Vibheiko once we were inside,

“This city could be my saviour,” I told him and we started to talk, there was Sailovi sitting with her friends on the other side of the bar room with 4 of her friends, they were chatting animatedly, there was Sarah, Michelle, Stella and Carla, all of them fast friends and they went back at least 10 years.  “There is another debate on the socialism v/s capitalism topic,” I heard Carla tell Sailovi and she was suddenly excited and the chattering began again, there was loud noises from the street as well, the bar was alive as we both ordered a whisky and coke each and started watching a Manchester United v/s Tottenham Hotspur match on the TV.

Sailovi had a Golden Labrador for a pet, and it was really her guide, often enough when she was lost or became too intense with her debates, Mischief, came to her rescue, she was smart and savvy and knew Sailovi’s world well, she had figured out who her friends were and warned her whenever Sailovi was about to make a bad overture.  I knew this family for over a month and enjoyed their company, they knew I was here to Sell Solar      and were equally curious about the project.  Would it fit in well in a pig farm? could it run the grass churner?

Could this be the city of my triumph after all, I just had to manage to sell 2000 systems for this project to go up on the anvils of fame and I was all for fame, socialism suited me just fine, as long as I got this project on the portfolio I would be happy and money, well I could charge my client a nominal amount already worked out with Vibheiko, Sailovi and friends support.

The Picture Of You In My Heart

The Picture of You In My Heart

Introduction
It was the school debate and they were discussing socialism versus capitalism and when  Sailovi Chenkual opened her eyes, she had been sleeping on the benches while one speaker came and another went.  Sailovi was in Aizawl her hometome and it was far away from the commercial hubs of the country.
“We just a small town about 200,000 people living singing and making a living,”she thought as she heard her name being called.  School was ending and Sailovi would get married soon, as her parents wanted.  She took a long breath and walked to the podium, took her place behind the wooden table and started to talk :

“It is this argument that will lead me to victory, what cannot it do, what cannot a house divided not do.  We can’t continue fighting for ever, there has to be morality and justice in our system, the government must promote our products and our culture.  We have been fighting each other for years and there are two ways from here, 1. A;ways work, money no matter 2. Have an agenda every morning with single minded focus, money.
.  Wasn’t he who is the most biggest proponent of capitalism, a fan of Socialism ?”

Sailovi was applauded, and then in the summer, the schools closed and it was time for most students to head for graduation.  Her parents didn’t think much of education and never sent her to college, Two thoughts that are totally contrary couldn’t exist, and yet in Sailovi’s mind they found themselves at peace, she stared over this bridge into the dark water and thought of “farming subsidies”.  We needed the subsidies, money was in short supply, there was no college to go to, and so she was thinking of that last debate she had won,
“Socialism or Capitalism, what would the people of this town prefer.”

The Road Map To Freedom

The sun shown bright and it was sunny, the weather got cold here during the winters but when the sun shown it was very bright and sunny, it was calm, there was a revolutionary army around these parts that had bared its teeth sometime back, it was true, there were thoughts of revolution here with China bordering the state, they would fester age old wounds and try and subvert thoughts.  Debating helped because it cleared up her mind, her idol was Abrahim Lincoln, his life truly inspired her and she suddenly realised just as the sun and cloud, the night and day live in unity, so too must socialism and capitalism.

In 2007, Sailovi got married, her husband, Vibheiko was a driver and he knew he was a fine driver and they were in love, and when he had met her she had been a bully and overbearing and yet after 5 years it had all changed, he admired her focus.  In 2012, they ran through another of many crisis, except this time there was shortage of money, Sailovi was in love with her Vibheiko and they teased and conjured up dreams for the next year.

He came and sat next to her and touched her arm gently, it still gave her goose pimples, especially that special touch, she froze even today and then quietly moved in, he continued to caress her arm and speak to her, she always gave into him, it was a fantastic feel of hair around her spine standing up and all her senses ablaze.

“We need the money,”she spoke trying to regain her composure, “to get the kids to school and for you to buy a car of your own.”He was still for a moment and then said, “We should, ahhhh ..should.. I mean should find a way to earn more money.”
“How about starting a business that I will handle here while you continue to work, and we all make some money, its about time you got a little of your own money for yourself and I hate myself for not working.  I had this womanly hunch that we will make it big in two years time.   Let’s to the local office that’s opened up in the town hall, I think its called Milaap #Milaap.org, they should be able to arrange some money for us.”

These Are Heavy Hands

These Are Heavy Hands

Information

Evening with friends over, Sefali  #Milaap  #Crowdfunding  #FreshEnergyCo had work to do, her "Traditions" minded mortal friend whose husband worked in the combust mines had said the miners were already melodic about Satya's songs.  They unexploded the trolleys, it was a wicked privileged mine, lit up only be a 60W bulbs and the radical miners had to save themselves off from the tedium of wreak. The trolleys were old and had to be dragged with labor, notwithstanding it was pale, the picture that was troubling all of them, someone had altered it and they had cried, had been downcast, Satya was in obligation at the mines because it kept the miners paradisaic and if the miners were cheerful and resting, as it turned out the igniting dynamite was dim, "It hurts," said the injured jack,"I was working and got raddled."
"You never forestall excavation dirt I avow you," said this crazy perception guy who was the businessman of the mines.  He had chromatic skin and slit like eyes and a heartless looking tackle that was inscrutable. He signalled the another miners to maintain revealing, if they were content, so was he, because then they worked.

The day was breaking and Sefali sought to listen to restore this, that he had agitated finally the whole night,"Once I move to work a song, we can never go bet again,"he said calmly and hoping she would realise, Satya knew she cried occasionally of the days expended by, "Am I hearing?" he asked gently, it was a piece on the prevarication of Dalai Lama and those bountiful 7 years when his intelligence had vermiformed a philosophy that would furnish upkeep to the Tibetan Psyche.

I have been with Sefali Marik and Foregather, the city of Magrahat, South 24 Paraganas Settlement in West Bengal,  and we are staring behind at another 7K for our #Crowdfunding direct.
Utter a word on this if you care.

My work colleague who was with me from "Shenzhen Huayuan Solar Co. Ltd” said, "We can move the incomparable Solar lighting systems to this place in no time" and the brochures followed immediately, She was real methodological in her sales talk, she had an alternative pitch for Sefali that went on for near 2 minutes followed by elaborate statement of the method, before proceeding to the conclusion, then there was a perception meeting where she listened to Sefali for 5 minutes and followed by 2 minutes of transactions proposition.  It was all over in 24 minutes I liked this bourgeois gal.

"We are Shenzhen Huayuan Solar Technologies, we do everything from  #SolarPower to  #SolarLed, we do everything Solar," she said cheerful.
There was something in her, I liked her straightaway, pretty petite and an outta grasp acting blackamoor, I could go anywhere with her, if she allowed me to.
"Sarah, you do go to the God's temple don't you," I asked her, "there is one around here, we could use several compassion now, don't you anticipate?"
We walked downwardly to a Hindu temple of Durga Maa and she prayed, she bent down to the altar relaxed like us and prayed.  I was of the opinion I would be employed with her shortly.

We were on our way, this illumination looked provocative, Sefali was thrilled, "This could go into our shrimpy cottages really well like a dream," she never asked me the rough pricing, she trusted me enough to not to ask.

Introduction

Upright lone here and inactive because of a gesture, "He is exploiting it to be o.k.," she said suddenly woken up, a dark and brooding cloud, and it damaged the psyche to see this materialize.  They were at it again, disagreeable to work him into the accord, when he wanted to be left incomparable, his girl, his mom, everybody in his household cerebration they knew what kind of person he was, and it seemed to Sefali that they thought of themselves as Gods, there to advice but never to cater or be there when the present were bad.

"Emotion they get displaced" he told Sefali in the forenoon, Tubby was as accustomed already up and set to go.

"It would be an Accomplishment to walk," Tubby asked Sefali, and Sefali said, Yes," and walked out without hunting backward. Tubby was her salvation, her enchiridion, she retributive self and it knew what to do everytime Sefali got puddingheaded, was his family line the reason he had disappeared, it was clearer and evidently so.

He needful to manipulate and all he got were their thoughts on how it had to be finished, he had worked solid to cook them out and this broke the inflection, his mum was no associate of his, she had ever pilfered his make and was continuing to do so flat today.

Sefali pledged that day she would capture his autumn, and provide him support when he stumbled, "It's about measure I verbalise this," her purpose snapped game at her, she got up and Tubby was as usual down with her as a familiar, "Guide it comfortable Sefali," she prodded with her caress in the air, "I am yours," Tubby was the e'er trusty one and why she wouldn't lead Sefali was a reflect.

She walked up to the Chaupal, and said, "I see necessity to get gone from all of you."
"Archer us why?," The villagers were hearing.
"Does it entity?" he support proudly and walked off.

I had known her husband for about 2 months and knew him as a somebody lonesome; his unhappiness had pioneered a reverberation.  I could bet an years wager, that his mind was in a Learning Processing, there was this somebody I knew who was the Interface Programme Expert, so I walked up to him and asked him a bluff enquiry, "Instrument me buccaneer You?" there was vocal laughter and offense immediately and my mind  had prefab a selection right there now, "The experts, they don't know a fuck about anything, after the money and not to create," I thought this over and realised it to be fake playacting.

These Are Big Shoes To Fill

Introduction

Evening with friends over, Sefali #Milaap #Crowdfunding #FreshEnergyCo had worked to do, her “Traditions” friend whose husband worked in the coal mines had said the miners were already singing Satya’s songs.  They loaded the trolleys, it was dark inside, lit up only be a 60W bulbs and the group of miners sang to keep themselves away from the boredom of work. The trolleys were old and had to be dragged with the hand, however it was the light, the illumination that was troubling all of them, some of them had even cried and had been depressed, Satya was in demand at the mines because it kept the miners happy and if the miners were happy then the owners applauded.

He whipped one of the guys who was sitting and resting, as it turned out the light was dim, “It hurts,” said the bruised miner,”I was working and got tired.”
“You never stop working till I tell you,” said this strange looking guy who was the owner of the mines.  He had yellow skin and slit like eyes and a cruel looking face that was inscrutable.
He signalled the other miners to continue singing, if they were happy, so was he because then they worked.

The day was breaking and Sefali wanted to listen to this piece that he had composed last night,”Once I finish writing a song, we can never go back again,”he said calmly and hoping she would understand, Satya knew she cried occasionally of the days gone by, “Am I listening?” he asked softly, it was a piece on the story of Dalai Lama and those fruitful 7 years when his mind had formed a philosophy that would give sustenance to the Tibetan Soul.

Walk Away In Silence

Walk Away In Silence

Introduction

Satya had been working all night on the compositions, he had broken and re-broken all the notes to get to final draft.  It would seem to any outsider that no work was happening, in the dead of night, all was quiet and people slept, he found his creativity peaking.

Today,  he said to himself, “If this country doesn’t give me anything to live on, I will move abroad,” there was the pain of the Naxals, the discrimination against the upper caste and subsidies for the lazy and inefficient lower castes.  “They wouldn’t work and wouldn’t allow anyone else to either,” he thought often to himself of his predicament, his endurance had been tested in this country.

His wife was peaceful, she always was these days, their’s was a comfortable relation, like the couch and the TV, though Satya was more likely to smoke his cigarettes to get his mind to work, he worked non-stop from 9am in the morning to 11pm at night.  His wife was an artist, a dancer and a painter and he loved her more than anything else in the world, they had seen the ups and downs of his career, from the small time salesman to tech executive at the local shop, he had moved from one milestone to the other and she had lived with him through his dreams and nightmares.  They would move out of this town, he would get a job in the USA, his friend had invited him and the market was heavenly for Indian Techies in the USA.  He was in love with his wife even after 20 years of staying together and he would find a way.

World's End Girlfriend - Your Song

World’s End Girlfriend – Your Song

Introduction

If ever there was a love, it was theirs’, the loneliness of six months and mystery of the present; it had all the makings of a love story.  Sefali was sitting on her porch and waiting for him to return,
“You Ok,” she asked Tubby, the dog, she was a mixed Labrador-German Shepherd,  that the people at Milaap had gifted to her.  She was old, but in love with her.
“Yeah I am fine, what do you know the neighbours just woke up.
“They work late, you know that,” she said.
“Do they now, and what about the binges and parties,” she said, walking up to her and settling down on the floor next to her.
“What’s with the other guy, that guy you call Maverick,” she asked Tubby.

Tubby nodded from her place and sighed, she was a proud one, this one, living in her own world with Sefali and guiding her whenever she needed to find advice.  Just then her husband walked in, it was late evening and by the looks on his face, he had had a satisfying day, a good composition and lively notes, it was all written on his face.

The last two months had been a mystery for everybody in the village, he wouldn’t pick up his phones, wouldn’t talk and kept people wondering about what would happen next.  Sefali kept him company, she tried to keep pace with him, their relationship had turned from a comfortable one to one of a mentor and his prodigy, it was far from dull and now there was always something to look forward to.  Sefali had forgotten her days of a Devdaasi  as there was something else that kept her busy, trying to find peace for herself and her husband.
She was large built, Sefali, but had the temper of a shrew, easily irritable and quick on the trigger.  In their whole life they hadn’t seen a more volatile personality, it took the whole of Buddy to calm her down and he stood with her through thick and thin.

He never picked his calls, “So where is he,” they asked.
He walked up to the Chaupal, and said, “Do You Know why they always have a fence around the cemetery.”
“Tell us,” The villagers were listening to his jokes and laughing loudly.
“It’s because, there are so many people waiting to get in there.”

So why doesn’t he talk, “Ask Yourself,” I told Sefali, “What is he getting out of this, he is not in this for money, he will make money once he is famous.”  Her husband was an intense person and he wouldn’t touch all the money in the world, he knew it would bring grief, it would bring ego and hatred, he had seen it in Calcutta, when he was shocked at his own personality change once he had money in his pocket.
“He wants fame before he makes money, you give him the prudence to handle the money he will make in the coming years,” I told her softly, I think she understood it, because I could see a tiny hint of tears in her eyes.

These Eyes They Are So Cold

These Eyes They Are So Cold

Introduction

Standing alone here and waiting for a sign, “He is going to be fine,” she said suddenly woken up, a night and revelation, and it hurt to see this happen.  They were at it again, trying to bring him into the community, when he wanted to be left alone, his sister, his mom, everybody in his family thought they knew what was best for him, and it seemed to Sefali that they thought of themselves as Gods, there to advice but never to help or be there when times were bad.

“Hate this crowd” he told Sefali in the morning, Tubby was as usual already up and waiting.

“Walk,” she asked Sefali, and Sefali said, Yes," and walked out without looking back. Tubby was her salvation, her guide, she just knew what to do everytime Sefali got confused, was his family the reason he had disappeared, it was becoming clearer and evidently so.

He needed to work and all he got their thoughts on how it had to be done, he had worked hard to keep them out and this broke the rhythm, his sister was no friend of his, she had always pilfered his work and continued to do so even today.

Sefali pledged that day she would catch his fall, and help him when he stumbled, “It’s about time I speak my mind,” her mind snapped back at her, she got up and Tubby was right behind her as usual, “Take it easy Sefali,” she prodded with her nose in the air, “I am yours,” Tubby was the ever faithful one and why she wouldn’t leave Sefali was a wonder.

He walked up to the Chaupal, and said, “I want to get away from all of you.”
“Tell us why?,” The villagers were listening.
“Does it matter?” he spoke proudly and walked off.

I had known her husband for close to 2 months and knew him as a friend; his loneliness had found a reverberation.  Years back when I used to work for a Learning Development Company, there was this one person who was the Interface Design Expert, so I walked up to him and asked him a direct question, “Will you teach me?” there was laughter and derision from his side and I had made a choice there instantly, “The experts, they don’t know anything, once the money is in the pocket,” I thought this over and realised it to be true.
